A Leap of Faith - Tally Forbes
By Lisa Raffo - RetirementJobs.com
Tally Forbes has always followed her gut. It's strategy that served her well as a developmental executive for the well-known environmental non-profit, Earthwatch. And now it's leading her down an exciting new retirement career path.
When Tally started scaling back her full-time job, she signed up for a couple of art classes to see if she might foster a new hobby - something to her days after she stopped going to the office.
She tried sculpture, drawing - but it was painting that captured her imagination. She began with watercolors and has recently started working with acrylics and experimenting with abstract painting.
Her talent is unfolding with each new canvas. She put together two solo shows in informal venues. And now she is enjoying the success od her first solo show in an actual art gallery.
It's a collection of works she calls Environmental Abstracts. They are full of color, movement and a sense of joy about the world.
